2015 Week #1 Update

Hello Students , Parents, Guardians, Alumni and Supporters/Friends of FIRST TEAM #203:

Believe it or not we are already wrapping up Week #1!  One week ago tomorrow we learned of this year’s challenge….Recycle Rush!!!  We were very excited about the turnout for our kickoff luncheon and workshop!  Over 150 students, family members and alumni were in attendance.   This was by far the largest turnout we have ever had at a kickoff event.  Congratulations to all who helped organize this event and attended!!!

Please find below an information update:

ROBOT PROGRESS
We have had a great week of design dialogue, strategizing and early prototyping.  We have begun to fabricate a custom drive chasis and hope to have it assembled this week (and driving around we hope!)!  Related to the pickup mechanism of for the totes, bucket and noodles … we have designed a prototype claw/forks and lifter which we hope to experiment with in the coming days.  Definitely a great deal of progress for the first week of FIRST!!
