Bingo Update

Good morning,

Thank you to all the parents that attended Saturday’s meeting.  I appreciate your help and input.  Currently we have 24 confirmed baskets.  Pasted their title and description below.  The executive committee was thinking of making a Gift Card tree—so if you would like to contribute a $5 or more gift card for the tree that would be great—if you have another basket you are working on please let me know ASAP.  I would like to place copies of this list on the tables that night for people to review.

If you contributed a basket already and there is not a description (or mine isn’t the best) please email me.

We are planning to meet at the Magnolia Rec Center (625 Brooke Ave) on Saturday the 31st at 10 to set up—the Rec center is at the crossroad of Albertson and Brooke ave’s.  If you are coming down Evesham Rd from the White Horse Pike, Albertson Ave is the 3rd right after the railroad tracks.

Unless Mr. De Prince asks your child to be at CCTS, please meet us at the Rec if you are available.

If you are available to work the start of bingo please be there at 5:30—the doors officially open at 6.

We only have 50 tickets left so if you need tickets please email or text me.

First Look at Rocky 2015!

We have made some great progress over the past two weeks and have our early prototype driving, lifting, and moving totes!  This is great with just two weeks of work!  This is a testament to all of our hard working students, coaches, and volunteers!!!

We are on our way to a great season!!!  We have been here seven days a week since kickoff and have worked many late nights!  This hard work is demonstrated through our accomplishments so far!

Here are some short videos of our progress:

Video #1

This was taken at the end of week one.  This is our chassis design using "mechanum" wheels.  As you can see the drive train is very nimble and easily traverse the step both forward and backwards as well as in hover mode.

Video #2

This was taken this past weekend.  It was the first test of our lifting mechanism.  As you can see, it is working very well.  We definitely seem to be on the right track!

Video #3

This was taken last night at about 7:30PM!  This was our drive train working together with our lifting"ladder" placing totes on a stack!  Again, what great progress.

Again, congratulations to all who are working long hours and days to make this happen.

Parent Meeting and Update

Good evening,

I hope you had a wonderful, restful weekend.

I wanted to update you on the progress of our Bingo-- I can't believe it is in 2 weeks.

We have purchased the bags that will be our prizes, I have attached pictures of them.  Sometimes posting on social media helps to boost ticket sales.  We have sold a little more that half of our tickets, keep up the great work. I have also attached the flyer in case you need one to share with friends and family

We currently have 10-12 baskets for our silent auction.  If you are willing to donate items for a basket or an entire basket please let me know.

We would like to meet on Saturday January 24th at 9:30 am in the Electronics shop  -- it is across the hall from the machine shop where the kids will be working. My goal is to finalize what needs to be done and who will be helping with what job that day, who can bring baked goods.   If you have any basket donations can you please bring them that day, then we can spend sometime on basket assembly.  I will also be available to exchange money for bingo tickets probably 9-1:00.

As always thanks for you help in advance and if you have any questions of concerns do not hesitate to let me know.

CCTS FIRST ROBOTICS  FAMILIES AND STUDENT TEAM MEMBERS:

Hope your weekend is going well, as many of you know we have been very busy already working on our robot and other team projects.  We are here bright and early this AM with our team leaders/ returning members. As I stated in my email this past Friday, we will be here again on Monday, 1/19 at 9AM.  For Monday’s work session, all members are welcome!!

We are writing you this e-mail to ask you to complete a very important on-line registration for our FIRST robotics organization.  The FIRST Robotics Headquarters requires each student to register on the FIRST Robotics website STIMS (Student Team Information Member System).   This is a very simple and quick process that students can do themselves on-line, however some on-line Parent/Guardian Consent forms will be required to completed by Parents as well.   So both students and parents should make sure that this process is completed together.  This registration must be completed by both returning and new student members (returning students should login with their username and password used previously to update their information/forms).

The following are the directions to complete this registration:

·        Click on the following link to access the on-line registration:  https://my.usfirst.org/stims/Login.aspx

·        Create New Account (Returning users do not need to create a new account.  You should use your current login info.)

·        Login to Account

·        Complete Youth Information sections

·        Apply to your team.  You will need to know we are part of the First Robotics Competition (FRC) and are team #203.

·        Sign and submit FIRST Consent and Release Form – you are done!

·        You will receive a confirmation from the coach/mentor informing you about the acceptance status of your child on the team. If you do not get an email, please contact your coach/mentor.

Please complete this process by Wednesday, January 21.   Please contact Mr. DePrince with any questions.

Thank you,
