Alumni Meeting

This is from the recent alumni gathering we did to reunite our schools past FIRST members.

AHHH! IT'S THE LAST DAY!

We don't have much left. Still, with the time ticking down, we're rushing to finish. having the robot done is top priority. With a lot of people here, we are certainly not short on manpower. It looks like we will be a force not to reckon with this year at the competition... I just hope I didn't speak too soon.

Our team spirit and moral is up for the home stretch...

See you at the competition!

The Home Stretch...

The build team is finishing up on the robot.

Rocky then Robot

Under Construction
This is our last weekend to work. We're in crunch time mode as the rest of us finish our assignments and reach our last few goals. The website is nearly finished for those looking forward to the unifying blogspot for the 203 robotics team.

The programming team has finished all all virtual programming. They still need to test the robot and fix any bugs.

Good luck to all the other teams in the upcomming competitions.

Well we are on our way!!!! Tomorrow will be one week since we learned of this year’s FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION (FRC) challenge….. ULTIMATE ASCENT!

In just over 5 weeks we will need to have ROCKY THE ROBOT 2013 ready to accurately throw 11 inch Frisbees and climb an 8 foot tall pyramid.

My goal is to send weekly, if not more often, updates regarding the team to both parents and students.

WORK SCHEDULE

As stated before and at the family meeting, we meet everyday afterschool. We also are meeting Saturdays. On Saturday, January 12 we will be meeting at 12:00noon in the robotics room. We should be wrapping up around 5PM.

PARENT / FAMILY BOOSTERS

Parent Booster Chair Brenda e-mailed everyone regarding support for snacks on Saturdays. Please check her e-mail for more information and be sure to respond to her. Brenda’s e-mail is cctsfirst.boosters@gmail.com.

Also, if any parent wants to volunteer let me know, and we can certainly use the help.

FUND RAISING

Please be sure to let me know if you have any leads for potential funding opportunities or team sponsorships. We are always looking for creative ways to keep our program going.

ONLINE RESOURCES

We will be maintaining a blog with these updates, pics, and more for our team. Check out our blog at http://cctsfirst.blogspot.com/. We will be developing the new team website in the near future, which will include this blog and more. Stay tuned for more information.

Also, you can read about FIRST Robotics, the competition, and more at FIRST’s website at www.usfirst.org. This is a valuable resource. Also, checkout www.chiefdelphi.com which is a great forum and discussion board for everything FIRST robotics.

In addition, the team has been focusing on strategy development for this year’s competition as well starting to build a prototype Frisbee launcher. Also, our build team is starting to build the field elements that we need to test and practice on. Our programming team is in the process of testing various software configurations on our test chassis. The safety team leads conducted a safety seminar this week, and all of the other working groups are working hard to meet their individual tasks….

We have a nice, hard working group of students this year… We are very excited about our potential. Students keep up the hard work and dedication. Parents thank you for your support!!!

GO ROCKY!!! GO FIRST!!! GO CCTS ROBOTICS!!!!
